How to turn off IFTTT apps

Turn off IFTTT (if you are using our new method of connecting social media) to avoid double posts.

Updated over a week ago

Practice Panda now has a built in application to autopost your newsletters and tax tips to social media, which eliminates the need for IFTTT (If This Then That). If you  have been using IFTTT to autopost with the RSS feed links, that will still work so you don't need to do anything at this point if you do not want to switch to this method. This method of connecting social media accounts is just an easier way of setting up autoposting and goes directly through us instead of IFTTT.

If you want to set up your social media autoposting with this new method, you will want to disable your IFTTT apps for Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter in order to avoid double posts by both our new application and IFTTT. Please follow the instructions below to disable your IFTTT apps.

  1. Go to ifttt.com and click on "Sign In" in the top-right corner.

2. Enter your username or email you used to sign up for IFTTT and click "Sign in". Or you can always login with Google or Facebook. If you have forgotten your password, click on "Forgot your password?" to get  a reset link sent to you.

3. Click on the profile icon in the top right corner and then click on "My Applets" from the dropdown menu.

4. Click on the applet you would like to turn off.

5. Click on the button to disconnect your account.

6. When it is disconnected, it will look like this (it will say "Connect").

7. Go back to "My Applets" by clicking the profile icon and clicking on "My Applets"

8. You will now see that the applet you just disconnected is grey, meaning that it is turned off. You will need to repeat steps 4 - 8 for each applet you have).
